BIANCHI & Co. is a freight forwarding company founded in Chiasso in 1924 by Mr. Fortunato Bianchi. Soon after the Second World War, when international trade was resumed, the company was taken over by Mr. Adolfo Segmüller, who successfully managed it up to the early 1980s. Due to his old age, Mr. Segmüller decided then to hand over the company management: Mr. Enzo Cantelli became responsible for all matters concerning the Swiss headquarters, while Mr. Mario Pittorelli took over the activities carried out within the Italian offices belonging to the group. The Bianchi group has expanded considerably and constantly throughout the years. Here are the details of the most significant events marking its history:

1924 Incorporation of the company.

1946 Boarders reopen and international trade is resumed. BIANCHI & Co. SA, Chiasso, specializes in the transport of Swiss high-tech watches, fabrics, precious stones and metals.

1951 Opening of the office in Milan.

1960 BIANCHI Chiasso focuses also on the Swiss-Italian trade of fabrics, machinery and all industrial goods from and to the whole world. Activation of import and export services by air and sea in cooperation with Zurich airport and then with the airport of Lugano-Agno and the ports of Genoa and Rotterdam.

1977 Opening of a small office in Ponte Chiasso, Italy, with the name Bianchi & C. Srl.

1980 Transfer of the Italian company's corporate seat to the Centro TIR in Montano Lucino (Como, Italy), which becomes the departing point for international road transport by truck.

Expansion of the Milan offices: start up of transport by truck, in particular from and to England. Later on, the company focuses on the transport of express packages and sea/air freight.

1989 BIANCHI Chiasso enhances its structure for the transport of valuables by setting up another office called BIANCHI Valenza Srl in Valenza Po (Alessandria, Italy), a town renowned in Italy for the manufacture of jewelry.

In order to increase the level of security, BIANCHI Chiasso incorporates the ValBIANCHI Srl in Montano Lucino (Como, Italy). With a fleet of armored vehicles, this company offers full guarantee of security in the transportation of valuables.

BIANCHI & C. Srl Montano Lucino (Como, Italy) expands its range of activities: it sets up the company BIANCHI & SELVA, purchases a fleet of trucks, thus becoming a global player able to guarantee optimal services along the existing traffic axes.

1996 Inauguration in Cernobbio (Como, Italy) of the first logistics warehouse of BIANCHI & C. Srl, which will largely contribute to the current development of the company.

Expansion of the logistics activities at the Grandate offices.

2000   BIANCHI Chiasso opens a branch in Colombier (near Neuchâtel, Switzerland) to meet the requirements of the well established, watch manufacturers as well as to create a logistics platform for western Switzerland.

BIANCHI & C. Srl opens a business office in Padova as a first step towards the next expansion in northeast Italy.

Inauguration in Casnate (Como, Italy) of the new headquarters of BIANCHI & C. Srl.

Today the BIANCHI group employs about 250 workers and registers annual revenues for over 55 million Euro.
The various companies belonging to the group cooperate together with the purpose of consolidating and specializing in certain areas. And together they are preparing to face new important experiences, also in view of Switzerland's entry into the European Union.
Numerous employees have remained within the group for several years, working at different levels and in different offices in a friendly cooperation. Hence, BIANCHI has gained an image on the international markets: it is seen as a modern and dynamic group, projected towards the future, tuned with today's needs, able to sense and react to swift breaks in trends in competing firms, in the industry and in the Swiss and Italian public administrations.
